Meet Jeremy:

Founder | Builder | Community Advocate

Born and raised in Lahaina, Jeremy Delos Reyes has spent his life investing in the people and places of West Maui. A proud graduate of Lahainaluna High School and the University of Hawaiʻi, Jeremy earned his bachelor’s degree in education before launching a 22-year career as a high school carpentry and construction teacher—empowering generations of Lahaina’s youth with hands-on skills and pathways to brighter futures.

Beyond the classroom, Jeremy has long been a pillar of the community: a youth and high school soccer coach, jiu-jitsu instructor, canoe builder, and coach to multiple paddling clubs. His commitment to Hawaiʻi’s cultural traditions and natural resources runs deep, shaping every facet of his work.

After the devastating Lahaina fire of 2023, Jeremy turned his full focus to rebuilding his hometown. Combining decades of woodworking, construction experience, and community leadership, he now helps local homeowners restore and rebuild their homes affordably—with craftsmanship rooted in aloha and resilience.

Driven by a vision of a greener, more self-sustaining Lahaina, Jeremy founded Kaiāulu Initiatives—a nonprofit committed to ensuring our community never endures such devastation again. The work aims to restore our aquifer, create a natural firebreak, and as a byproduct, provide a healing space for survivors to reconnect with the land and each other.

Today, Jeremy builds more than homes—he builds hope, healing, and a stronger Lahaina.
